The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is one of the most unique facilities you will find in Buffalo. The history alone is enough to want to visit our beautiful conservatory. Our one-of- a-kind, non-traditional venue has guests on their toes as they walk through this extraordinary living museum. This being said, weddings at the Buffalo Gardens are definitely memorable ones. The conservatory can accommodate a wide range of guests, up to 200. The Botanical Gardens is a matchless facility, because it isn’t just one large room. We have multiple greenhouses that connect in a way that provides a beautiful path for guests to navigate our notable plant collection. Many of these greenhouses allow for set-up which makes the reception itself very different from all the rest!
The Botanical Gardens has multiple ceremony locations on our historic property, both inside and outside. We have a beautiful outdoor garden with a gazebo that is surrounded by annual and perennial plants and flowers, which provide an array of color. In case of inclement weather, we always reserve an indoor location. For after hours in conjunction with a reception, the indoor location is our Main Palm Dome. Being the focal point of the entire conservatory, the Palm Dome is full of palm trees and other tropical plants, making it the grandest greenhouse we have in the entire conservatory.
Once our beautiful couple walks up the aisle, then the real party kicks off with cocktail hour. We have a brick patio outside that can be used in nice weather, but cocktail hour is typically located in the Main Palm Dome. The Palm Dome is a perfect atmosphere for cocktail hour with bistro and cocktail tables dispersed around. At this time, guests are welcome to grab a drink, indulge in hors d’oeuvres and take a stroll around the Botanical Gardens. When it comes time for dinner, our dining room is like no other. This room can fit up to 100 guests seated; however, the room can be shortened to allow for a cozier feel for smaller crowds. Aligning the room, you will find trees, smaller plants and hanging ivy with twinkle lights in them to provide a beautiful ambiance for dinner.
The bar can be found in the Florida Everglades room amongst the honey bee observation hive, mangrove trees and other wetland inhabitants. The Panama Cloud Forest is where the food can be found; however, if you are looking to have a seated meal, this room opens up to allow for other things, such as a photo booth or dessert display. Guests are welcome to explore the entire Botanical Gardens throughout the evening, while eventually making their way back into the Main Palm Dome for dancing. The Palm Dome has spotlights in each garden quadrant, highlighting our beautiful plant collection. The glass dome ceiling is also lit, providing the perfect ambiance for dancing.
As anyone can see, the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is very adaptable to our clients’ desires. We want to make your dream become a reality, and there’s no better place to do that than one of the most historic and elegant places in the City of Buffalo. Let us help you plan your dream wedding!
