Jessica + Kathleen’s Real Love Story

Some of our favorite shots of the day came from an unplanned visit to Misuta Chows, which was a good reminder that sometimes the best moments come when you take a chance maybe stray from the original plan.

We got engaged in our home in Amherst after an anniversary dinner at Tempo, but made our announcement image from SpOt Coffee on Main Street in Williamsville where we had our first date.  We announced it via a ‘SpOt’ the Difference’ photo!

Our favorite moments were mainly prior to the ceremony, simply hanging out with our best maid, maid of honor and family.  After that, of course, would be all of the dancing and music.  One surprise on the day was our trip to Misuta Chows.  We had a little bit of spare time and our fabulous photographer recommended going there.  Some of our favorite shots of the day came from there, something we didn’t plan for at all.  It was a good reminder that sometimes the best moments come when you take a chance maybe stray from the original plan.

In our opinion, simply based on other weddings we’ve been a part of, most of our wedding was fairly non-traditional.  To start, we are two women :).  In addition to that, we had a friend marry us, and it was his first time as an officiant.  We also wrote our own vows, had a Paula’s Donut wall (which was a big hit), and had a live artist on-site for people to watch work.

We did not want the event to be stuffy in any way, so we kept the ceremony short and sweet so that we could get on to the real festivities.  We wanted it to essentially be one big party with all of our loved ones, and that’s what it turned out to be.

Outside of the wedding, we are a fairly typical couple that absolutely loves all that Buffalo has to offer.  My father passed away 1 month ago, almost to the day, after an extremely short battle with cancer.  We did not know at the time of the wedding that the end would be so soon, however I was extremely glad that my father was able to walk me down the aisle, and see his youngest turn the woman of her dreams into a DiPasquale.  I will forever cherish all of the images and memories of this day, not only because it was the day of our wedding, but it was one of the last truly happy times we were able to share with him.
