Creative Buffalo Weddings: Real Love Story of Taylor and Chris

Married at the Chapel at Crosspoint after dating for four years, after dating long distance for most of our relationship, he moved to South Wales and popped the question on my birthday last year. On our wedding day we were surrounded by 28 of our closest family members, it was perfect.

The location for the ceremony was an easy choice for us as we have attended The Chapel at Crosspoint for years. Not only was it “homey” but also the small chapel was perfect for a wedding our size! Since we were planning such a small wedding, closing a venue for the reception was a little trickier! With the help of our wedding planner, Carla Measer-Costamagna, we closed in on our wedding style. We were looking for something shabby chic and that would appropriately seat a group our size without being too crunched or too huge. After a long search and many venue visits, we finally came across Tempo Restaurant and it was perfect! The Belvedere Room, exquisite service, fine dining and overall feel was right on.

We had so much fun planning a unique, intimate wedding weekend for our family. Since our family was all coming in from out of town we reserved a block of rooms and included all local favorites in their gift bags! Also due to this, we chose not to have a rehearsal dinner but instead planned a family picnic for the day after the wedding. That picnic was the best opportunity to really spend time with all our guests and visit with our family members that traveled so far to witness our marriage.

Guests were greeted by beautiful live music played by The Buffalo String Brothers. As a little side note, when my husband picked out my engagement ring he used a diamond for the center that came from his mother and engraved the verse that was read at my parents wedding on the inside of the band. So, for his wedding band, I had the other verse that was to be read at our wedding engraved on the inside of his band. Once we were all loaded and champagne was poured, we began our drive to Glen Falls Park for our family pictures. After pictures were taken, we loaded back up and headed to Tempo for our family dinner.

The rest of our evening was spent around one long table enjoying conversation, kisses, and creating the most incredible of memories. I wouldn’t change a single thing and it is a memory that I will cherish forever.
