Buffalo & Rochester Indie Weddings Member Spotlight: Papercraft Miracles

Papercraft Miracles is a local studio specializing in custom paper creations. Each piece is handcrafted with love and little bit of magic in Buffalo, NY. From wedding albums to guest books, invitations to favors, and even paper floral bouquets, let owner-artist, Janna Willoughby-Lohr, customize the fine details of your special day.

I have been creating custom papercrafts for over 15 years and have recently taken Papercraft Miracles full-time. Making a living through art is a dream come true for me. I began my training in paper and book arts at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and I knew I’d found my calling. There’s just something about handling paper that sends me to the moon and brings me back to earth, at the same time. That feeling is miraculous to me. I aim to instill that sense of wonder into each piece that I create, because we can all use a little miracle now and then.

Papercraft Miracles has the unique ability to personalize every aspect of your order. The only local place to offer custom handmade paper for your invitations and books, I love to add in extra special details to make each order symbolic of the couple’s relationship. I can make paper that has petal inclusions of your wedding flowers, little pieces of your love notes, or even plantable paper with seeds that grow flowers in your wedding colors! Got engaged under a maple tree? I can incorporate the leaves into your paper and books. Had your first date at a pizza place? Did you know that basil paper is a thing?! The possibilities are endless.

Another thing that sets Papercraft Miracles apart from other vendors is the ability to coordinate all your paper goods. The same papers and materials can be used for your save-the-dates, invitations, guest book, bridesmaid bouquets, table and place cards, centerpieces, wedding album and thank you cards. I also offer distinctive favors and gifts including seed bombs, miniature books, paper flowers and other fun trinkets. Discounts are available for full-wedding packages of three or more items.

Papercraft Miracles is also an eco-friendly vendor. 100% recycled paper is available and encouraged and I try to utilize any scraps I have by making new projects and more handmade paper from them.  I also love to work with DIY couples, providing ready to assemble invitation packages and such, for those who want to be more hands-on but don’t want to get overwhelmed. Let me make it easy for you!

My favorite thing about my job is that I get to work with people to make their dreams come alive. Almost everyone has visions of what their wedding will look like but not everyone knows how to make them happen. I love to take time with my clients to learn about them and their relationship, what special things they find important, and the little details that hold them together. I find ways to incorporate those things into “miracles” that they will cherish for a lifetime.  Many of my clients are repeat customers who call me up when it’s time to make baby books and shower invitations.

Papercraft Miracles is an LGBTQ-friendly vendor. I’m so happy that our country has finally recognized same-sex marriage and I welcome you with an open heart. I donate 10% of the proceeds from all my rainbow-colored products and same-sex wedding packages to GLYS (Gay & Lesbian Youth Services).
