A Love Story Rooted in Family and Tradition

For Abigail Alexander and Bill Shaver, love has always been about family. So, it’s only fitting that their engagement began in a place filled with love and comfort — Abigail’s parents’ house. On June 18, 2023, surrounded by their closest loved ones, Bill popped the question, creating a moment that would forever be etched in their memories.

“It’s my favorite place in the world,” Abigail shared. “Having all the most important people in my life as witnesses made it absolutely perfect.”

With their hearts set on a classic wedding day experience, the couple began planning an elegant celebration at one of Buffalo’s most iconic venues — The Buffalo History Museum.

A Vision of Timeless Elegance

Abigail’s vision for her wedding day was clear from the start: classic, timeless, and full of heart. The Buffalo History Museum provided the perfect backdrop with its grand architecture, sophisticated charm, and romantic ambiance.

Wedding Style: Classic elegance with a hint of modern charm

Every detail was carefully considered, from the lush floral arrangements to the unforgettable live music, all of which created an atmosphere that felt both upscale and inviting.

The Dream Team of Vendors

Abigail and Bill’s wedding wouldn’t have been complete without their incredible team of vendors. Each one played a vital role in bringing their dream day to life. Here’s a look at the talented professionals who made it happen:

  • Florist: Bushel and Peck created breathtaking floral arrangements that added an elegant, natural touch to every space.

  • Photographer: Janel Sealander captured every candid moment and posed shot with artistry and precision.

  • Apparel: Abigail’s stunning gown was from Grace Loves Lace, a choice that perfectly matched her vision for classic elegance.

  • Hair & Makeup: Hair was styled by Golden Hour, while Emily’s Esthetics created a timeless, glowing bridal makeup look.

  • Catering: Guests savored every bite from Tappo, known for its impeccable cuisine and exceptional service.

  • Bakery: The Grange Outpost satisfied every sweet tooth with a delicious array of desserts.

  • Music: Silver Arrow Band kept the dance floor packed all night with an unforgettable live music experience.

  • Transportation: S&S Limo ensured the entire wedding party arrived in style and on time.

  • Accomodations: The Loft at 537 Main was the perfect place to unwind

The couple didn’t hire a formal wedding planner, but they had plenty of support. Abigail credited Christa from Tappo for being an instrumental part of their planning process and making sure every detail was seamless.

The Big Day: September 21, 2024

The wedding day was a celebration from start to finish. With a guest list of 190 loved ones, the joy was palpable from the moment guests arrived. The Buffalo History Museum’s iconic architecture served as a stunning backdrop for photos and set the stage for an unforgettable ceremony and reception.

Abigail’s walk down the aisle was a showstopper, as she wore a breathtaking gown from Grace Loves Lace. The live music from Silver Arrow Band filled the air with music, building anticipation for the moment she met Bill at the altar.

After the “I do’s,” it was time to celebrate! Guests enjoyed an incredible cocktail hour — a standout moment for Abigail. “The cocktail hour with all my family and friends was my absolute favorite part of the day,” she said. It was a chance for loved ones to connect, mingle, and savor delicious bites from Tappo before the night’s main festivities.

Food, Fun, and Forever Memories

When it came to food, Abigail and Bill didn’t cut corners. Tappo’s catering wowed guests with an unforgettable culinary experience, ensuring no one left hungry. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious.

Music was another highlight of the night. The Silver Arrow Band set the tone for an energetic and lively dance floor. From classic hits to modern jams, the band’s performance had every guest on their feet. The night was filled with music, laughter, and nonstop dancing.

Of course, no wedding is complete without something sweet. The Grange Outpost provided mouthwatering desserts that guests couldn’t stop raving about.

After the celebration was over, the happy couple retired to luxurious Loft at 537 Main and spent the rest of the weekend reminiscing on the beautiful, special day they just had.
